If you every fancied entering a Match and have been put off by the cost and rules or just too embarrassed, then we have the answer for you here.

 

The Club hold One Off Matches at the Club Lake on every 2nd Sunday of the Month excluding May - 

The matches will be open to all Club Members, but we will have to limit the number of Anglers in the match to 16.  

We will not be closing the lake so other members that want to fish outside of the match can do so by finding a vacant swim.

 

The idea of the matches is to return to a time when it was genuine fun to have a match amongst friends with as little rules as possible.

 

Questions & Answers:

 

What are the Times?

Draw:                    0800 hours – Draw will be walk off (Choose Peg in order of number drawn)

Start:                     There will be no Start Whistle – when you are ready you can Start fishing.

Finish:                   1500 Hours – If you have a fish on you have 15 minutes to land it.

Weigh In:             As Soon as Possible after the Finish.

 

What are the Rules?

Club Rules apply – plus any other than are contained in this note.

 

What Fish Counts?

Every Fish you catch counts – even Crayfish!

Carp of any size caught must be weighed & returned immediately.  The Match Co-Ordinator on the day will weigh and record the details of fish for you.

 

How Much will it Cost?

There are no fees.

 

What Tackle do I need to Bring?

Whatever Tackle you want to fish with as long as it conforms to Club Rules.

You will need a Silver Fish Keep Net.

 

How Many Rods can I fish with?

You can only fish with one rod at a time.

 

What Bait can I use?

Any bait you wish but MUST conform to Club Rules

 

I’m Interested – What do I do next?

 

There are normally between 6-11 members that fish the matches on a regular basis, if you are a new member who would like to fish the matches please email: leechaplefishingclub@gmail.com that you plan to attend that Months Match, so we know to expect you.   If we have more than 16 attending it is first come first served.
