Club Rules
ALL MEMBERS MUST ADHERE TO THE RULES, FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN A FINE OF UP TO £50 OR A BAN.
It is the responsibility of all Club Members to read and familiarise themselves with the Rules and Codes of Conduct of Lee Chapel Fishing Club.
All Members use the Lake for recreational angling at their own risk. The Club do not accept any liability for any injury, damage or loss of equipment.
General Rules:
1. The gates must be closed and locked at all times.
2. No Parking beyond the Main Club Notice Board at any time.
3. Current Membership Cards & EA Rod Licences must be carried at all times and presented to Bailiffs on request. Failure to do so will result in being asked to leave the Lake. If the Club are advised by the EA that you have been found fishing by them without a Licence you will be expelled from the Club.
4. All Junior Members MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times. 1 adult can be responsible for up to a maximum of 3 Juniors at any one time. For the purposes of this rule an Adult is 18 years old and older. Young Adults who are 16 or 17 are not permitted to supervise Junior members, on their own.
5. Only Bivvies, Umbrellas and Shelters specifically designed for fishing may be used whilst fishing. Gazebos and Tents or any other type of camping structure are NOT allowed. The Permissive Path must NOT be obstructed.
6. No firearms, crossbows or any other device that might cause injury to persons or wildlife.
7. Barbeques, fires, any device capable of producing external audible noise, excessive noise and any other nuisance is not permitted at any time. Audio/Visual equipment may only be used with the employment of headphones in a safe manner. Bite Alarms must be set to the minimum usable level
8. Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead at all times whilst fishing.
9. No Fish or Plants to be introduced or removed from the Lake or surrounding area.
10. Night fishing must be pre-booked with the night fishing co-ordinator. Details are on the Noticeboard/Club website.
11. No Video or Photographic Images of the Lake that state Lee Chapel Fishing Club or the Lake Location to be published in any media form without prior permission of the Committee.
12. All litter (Including Cigarette Butts), residual bait and old fishing line must be taken away and disposed of correctly.
13. No Boats Allowed on Lake, including Bait Boats (except for Lake Maintenance)
Fish Care Rules:
a. Careful handling of fish must be observed at all times. No lifting of fish above knee height whilst standing. No Towels to be used when handling fish. No use of Plastic Bags to weigh fish.
b. Landing Nets & Unhooking Mats to be used at all times and must be dry prior to fishing:

Landing Net Size: You must have at least one Triangular Landing Net that has a net of a minimum size of 36 inches for landing Carp above 10lbs. You may use smaller spoon nets for landing silver fish and small Carp of below 10lbs.

Unhooking Mat Size: You must have an Unhooking Mat minimum size of 1000mm long x 600mm wide and a thickness of 30mm. You may use two or more unhooking mats to obtain the minimum thickness requirement – If joining mats this MUST NOT be done in a manner that could cause damage to fish.

​c. No Carp Sacks.
d. No Keep Nets (except in Club Sanctioned Events).
e. Max Line size allowed is 12lb.
f. The Maximum Hook is Size 8.
g. All hooks must be barbless or Micro-Barbed (not crushed).
h. No fixed rigs of any kind, including the ‘Magic Twig’.
Bait Rules:
a. Banned Baits: No Nuts. No Artificial Bread.
b. All Feed Boilies must be crushable between Finger & Thumb and all Dog Biscuits must be soaked prior to use in the Lake.
c. All Particles must be prepared. i.e. Cooked prior to use in the Lake.
d. Sea Dead Baits Only – No Live Baiting.
e. Bread Bait Limit 1st October to 31st March is 2 pints of liquidised bread per session and punched bread on the hook only - NO FLAKE OR CRUST IS ALLOWED. Use of Bread is Banned from 1st April to 30th September.
Fishing Rules:
a. Two Rods Maximum per angler except during Winter Night fishing when 3 rods may be used – See Night Fishing Rules
b. Rods MUST NOT be left unattended at any time. (EA By-Law)
c. Fish in designated swims only. No Stalking at any Time.
d. No fishing beyond the red markers and floating white buoys.
e. No Spinning.
f. No Surface Fishing - Baits must not be visible from the surface
g. No Fishing from Swims with Red Markers.
These rules should be read in conjunction with the Club’s Codes of Conduct. The Club Committee reserves the right to amend these Rules and any time, by publishing to Members on the Club Website, Lake Notice Board and e-mail.
